Cara Dominick

Ballroom Dance Instructor

Cara Dominick is a classically trained dancer. As a child, she studied ballet, jazz, modern and tap for ten years. After graduating college with a major in Accounting and minor in Spanish, she focused on her professional corporate finance career within venture capital. When she and her husband, Jarrod, got engaged in 1998, she began taking ballroom lessons in preparation for her wedding.

Not long after Cara stepped on the ballroom floor for that first lesson, she realized her passion for dance. She studied ballroom under several national champions and travelled around the country competing with her dance partners. Cara is now a professional instructor with eleven years of teaching experience.

In 2005, Cara and Jarrod opened Take Hold Ballroom and Latin Dance, a ballroom studio in Buckhead. The studio focused on social dancing, salsa, and competitive ballroom. Jarrod and Cara were featured on the Fox News morning show where they performed on live television. The studio was honored to host Vivica A. Fox and her dance partner, Nick Kosovich, while she trained for “Dancing with the Stars.” They later sold the studio in 2010 to focus on their growing family. Cara now teaches part time in East Cobb and performs at ballroom, charity and corporate functions throughout the year.
